Designed for a growing family, Pavilion House was envisioned as an expansive reimagining of an existing house.
What began as a low-ceilinged, maze-like bungalow now reads as a calm sequence of spaces stitched to garden and sky.
Retaining the footprint spared valuable mature trees, while stripping interiors to structure allowed a clean slate for contemporary living without the carbon cost of a full rebuild.
A decisive longitudinal spine organizes the plan: to the east, a quiet wing containing bedrooms and study niches; to the west, all things sociable—kitchen, lounge and media.
Sliding pocket doors let the family modulate privacy, creating one continuous space for celebrations or a pair of hushed zones for work and rest.
